1 October SuperGold Card enhancements.
From 1 October, there will be free off-peak public transport and additional assistance for hearing aids.
Regional councils are implementing free off peak travel.
The subsidy for new hearing aids will increase from $198 to $500 (GST inclusive) per hearing aid from today for SuperGold Card holders 65 and over. This increased subsidy will be available to cardholders who have their hearing aids fitted on or after 1 October 2008.
Choice Hotels - 21 August 2008
Choice Hotels Australasia is pleased to announce they have joined the SuperGold Card programme to offer accommodation discounts to seniors.
The SuperGold Card programme now has more than 930 business partners offering a large range of discounts and concessions at 4915 outlets across New Zealand. Now SuperGold Card holders will be able to use their cards to receive discounts internationally.
New directory launched - 29 July 2008
New Services to SuperGold Card holders directories are today being delivered to over 520,000 SuperGold Card holders.
The new directory contains more than 850 business partners offering a variety of discounts across a wide range of goods and services. Almost 5000 business outlets throughout New Zealand have joined the programme. This is an increase of 570 percent since the first directory was published for the SuperGold Card launch in August 2007.
McDonald's joins SuperGold Card programme - 17 April 2008
Restaurant chain McDonald's has joined the Government's SuperGold Card programme.
McDonald's will offer card holders a free cup of tea or filter coffee with any purchase at its 141 branches nationwide.
InterCity and Newmans Coach Lines join SuperGold Card programme - 23 November 2007
InterCity and Newmans Coach Lines joined the SuperGold Card programme today as the first nationwide transport provider offering discounts to New Zealand's half a million SuperGold cardholders.
SuperGold Card Launch Media Release - 29 August 2007
